That sure doesn't look like rosemary to me! The leaves are way to broad. This is rosemary:

there are different types of leaves for rosemary and if it is a young plant it will have smaller leaves

Very very true. I usually think more towards human preferences than chicken abilities, lol!

I see. Are they more of a dried herb for nesting boxes rather than eating then?

Umm...all I KNOW is that none of my 12 girls seem to have a taste for it. Also, it’s a good pest deterrent type plant. If I was you I would research it and take the advice of a more knowledgeable chicken owner than myself.

Rosemary of any "type" has very needle like leaves. Very small and pointed. Not broad at all. This is rosemary.
