what i never knew about vicks vapor rub

Another use for VIck's is to rub on a stallions nose if he is going to be around other horses and you don't want him to act up.
I love the new Vick's cream! It's just the same as the old stuff except it's a greaseless cream that doesn't have that vaseline feeling to it. It doesn't attract dust or lint either.

I have used a towel smeared with Vick's to cover a cage with chickens with respiratory problems. It unstuffs them as well as it works on me, so I'm sure they feel better.

Well, I tried it on my sons feet last night, and he had no idea why I was rubbing it on his feet, and I'm telling you he didn't cough one time, the night before he was up all night coughing to death!
I couldn't believe it, I would rub his chest and it would help a little, but this was amazing!!
I was so happy I check in on BYC before I put him to bed.
He hated it though, he hates to wear socks to sleep in.
I will do it again tonight!
Oh for the toe nail fungus, the liquid it best, just paint it on like nail polish, but you have to do it for at least 6 months every night, and it does work, we had to use it on my Dad when he got ill, his immune system was really weak and from not being bathed properly all the time,(in the hospital) he developed a fungus on his toe nails!
I will remember to try it on a sick chicken! Thanks

One of my aunts is a firm believer in putting it on your feet and covering up just as you say to get rid of the coughs. We keep a jar around all the time.

I've heard of using it on feet before but never remember to try it. I've always got some for rubbing on my son's chest when he gets a cough.If nothing else it's a great bonding moment. He loves it. I remember having it smeared on my upper lip and that burned! I worked for a vet who swore you could use it on a dog to prevent licking. Tried it on a dog we had who had a lick granuloma but he loved the stuff! I didn't put in on the raw area, but around it. The only good it did was he licked the Vicks instead of the wound for a bit.
I used to have a humidifier that had a little cup where you could put a tablespoon or so full of Vicks and it would scent the air to help with congestion.
I've also read about the police and others using it to mask nasty smells, probably in mystery novels which I used to read way too many of before I became obsessed with chickens.

Vicks is a wonder salve.....as previously said by umm i think hencackle it does indeed also heal toenail fungus i am currently treating my big toe as my dad said a dr told him about it.....he tried it, healed right up......................also another remedy my parents swear by it but im laughing just typing this...try it on hemmroids

....now i know you will probably have to run around the house a few laps but my mother says it is an almost instant cure.....
