I bought two pullets from a gentleman that were supposed to be black aussies. now that they are getting old and their combs are starting to come in, i'm starting to notice black speckles on their combs. I've always questioned these birds because they are quite a bit smaller than the black aussies I already have of the same age and still have a white patch under their chins. These birds were born june 3rd (supposedly) so they should have better traits than this. I'll post pics later if I can, but what kind of bird can this be?

Honestly I can't really guess without the picture

Here's one. You can't tell from the picture but when I look closely on her little comb I see red coming in with black speckles.

Looks like a Black Australorp to me. Most black birds start out with some white patches that gradually become covered in adult black feathers.

I know this, they're just different and much smaller than my other BA's. And when I look closely they have black on their combs...

What do you mean by black? Could you post a pic? Some bird if they get picked on and bleed, will get black scabs on their combs. They could be smaller because they're not very good quality.
