what if we get straight run?

By the way, Calls from hatcheries do not look like the adorable little ducks that you see photos of on-line. If you want that round look and the little baby doll bill, you must buy from a serious breeder of Calls.

People serious about ducks WON'T ship ducklings. They do not travel well when newly hatched and it isn't fair to them or the buyer. If someone tells you they will ship you call ducklings run away and look for another source. No need to open a box of dead or dieing ducklings.

You would do well to order the straight run ducks form Holderread. Because of his reputation for quality birds, you should be able to re-home excess drakes. He is honest about straight run. No removing the females before he fills orders.

Or, there are some excellent Call breeders in your part of the country. You could buy 2 -3 juvenile females from a breeder as soon as they are old enough to determine what gender they are.

Perhaps we'll try another time. We decided to wait on trying to get Calls or other bantam breeds. But if the kids get into 4H we will remember Holderreads is a good option and see what breeders we might be able to find near us.

I disagree with this. Holderread ships ducks and He is very very serious about ducks
