It's an Eastern Eyed Click Beetle.
They are not dangerous to your flock.
It eats nectar and plant juice.

The larvae of these beetles eat the larvae of other beetles. It IS the exterminator.

Now that's a neat looking bug! The other day we found a Jerusalem Cricket.. I had never seen one before and it sure did freak me out.

All beetles found chewing on my plants are tossed into the chicken run.
