I am thinking a fox as well. Do not know difference between calls of red and grey. Some of calls appear to be frogs or toads but not same species as occurs in Missouri.​

Thanks everyone! I had been thinking owl but after looking up fox screaming on YouTube, I found several of that exact vocalization. It is def. a fox. Kinda cool.

a bobcat will make the same kind of sound it is a bit more intense though

It's a fox. Kits are starting to venture out on their own. They will call for "mom and dad" and the parents will call for them. Coincidentally I saw two kits road killed today at widely separated localities. When they are first on their own, there is nothing "sly" about them. If they survive they become educated rapidly.
