OK, this has got to be the ugliest chicken I have ever seen. I purchased her or him 16 weeks ago
what I thought was a Buff Orpington. Her "sister" is definitely a buff and they looked exactly alike as 2 week old chicks except for a small brown tipped beak on this one. Then it grew into this??? It looks like an eagle got into the hen house! ha! I am thinking an EE cross potpourri barn yard mix of some sort?? Any ideas?? Boy or girl??

It's a hatchery quality white laced red Cornish, I think. Not stellar layers, but good at foraging and make nice protective broody mommas.

Oh my gosh, I looked it up, I believe your right. Not exactly my first choice or second, but she (I hope) certainly is unique.

Hi everyone I'm having trouble posting my own question post on here.

So I hope I can post here and get some answers?

I have just had my very first lot of chicks hatch by the hen and thy were all born fine.
They are 2 weeks old and there is so far only 1 chicken with a problem.
which brings me her to find some help...

I have this baby chicken who will not stop biting his own foot it's been happening for ages with in the first few days of him being hatched I had noticed blood on his foot I thought that he'd hurt it.
Then I thought one of the other Chicks were doing it.
but today I put him on his own and I saw him pecking his own foot now his very sore and in pain and won't leave it alone.

Well guess what? My little mystery chicken...soon to be discovered, thanks to all of you, a White Laced Red
Cornish "hen", laid an egg yesterday. Goodness, I see why they are not much good for egg laying. Such a tiny little thing! But she was so proud. Me, too.

Her eggs will get larger over the next several weeks. The first "pullet" eggs are always small with any breed.
