What in the WORLD? What color is this strange Silkie??

Saw this at a show. The owner was proud as could be. (I honestly thought it was

!) Definitely interesting!!

No black skin here!

Just thought I'd share!

That is cool! It looks like a crele pattern with white skin,...even its earlobes are white! Maybe its an albino crele silkie,...I would love to have one!

I am no Silkie expert but I would guess Barred Salmon with white skin?

Personally I don't think the owner should be so proud - The bird has red wattles, comb, and WHITE skin and shanks.

The color is barred, whatever it is. If it is a female, I have no clue. If it is a feminine looking male - I'd say some sort of golden (gold/silver split) breasted red type pattern.

Well, I think it's neat! Why shouldn't the owner be proud? Very interesting, and those white feet and legs....sooo white!

Oh I am happy that the owner is proud, *I* just thought it was ugly, haha! It sure was sweet though......he toted it all over the place and it was as calm as calm could be.

I would never tell one of my kids (or even myself for that matter) that I couldn't keep a bird that I loved just because it didn't conform to what some book says it "should" look like. However, that being said, if one of my kids wanted to show a bird like that, I would gladly let them because it would make them happy!

All of us here in BYC keep chickens because they make us happy. Somewhere along the lines, I think SOME of us forgot that and have decided to make other people feel bad because their chicken isn't perfect. I wish those people would keep their opinions to themselves, and quit putting others and their chickens down.
