What in your opinion is the best broddy hen?

Mille Fleur D'Uccle's - I have three, all three went broody this year. Very dedicated, but they do boot the babies out at 6-7 weeks old.


Bantams only have ond draw-back, you can only fit a few eggs under them.

The games will protect the babies against you if they peep or sound distressed when you are trying to handle them. With games it is best to let them and their instincts handle the raising for the most part, they are still fun to watch and the hens will let you get close and watch all you want, plenty of time to tame the chicks when mama's done with them.
