What incubator would you recommend?

Getting a rooster soon and was thinking of trying my hand at hatching out a couple eggs. Maybe even getting some fertile duck or goose eggs from the local auction. None of my hens are broody at the moment, still hoping they will be once I get a roo in the coop. Maybe they just need those mothering instincts shaken up a lil'

Buuuut...I'm not sure what to get. I'm not looking for anything super-incredible-fancy, just so long as it works!

genesis 1588 with turner . hand down. sold my little giant and bought this one and i love it.

Yeah I was recommended to get the Genesis 1588 w/ turner too. I also bought the Hygrometer/Thermometer from the Incubator Warehouse too. It was the cheapest place I could find it. So I'd have to say go with that. There are other cheaper incubators but they're a pain in the neck to watch. Used the Hova bator 1602N w/o turner or fan. Not so good. The LG is cheaper w/ a turner, but no fan. Not so good. Might as well spend it on one that is going to increase your odds of a good hatch.

On the other hand if you don't have a place for the chicks. Skip the whole hatching thing. Unless your 100% sure you can house or sell them, or are willing to give them away.
