My coop is 8 x 12, the back wall 12' has a poop board.

I have 2x4's for roosts but laid so that the wider side is where the flock roosts for the winter months (prevent feet from frostbite). I have an old 3 rung ladder that I have with 3 five gallon buckets placed through each step (easy for cleaning). And feeder in the corner made out of PVC. That's it, very simple.

Here are the nest boxes I built for the girls. We have 14 and at "peak" laying I probably could have used another box, but now that they are getting older, 3 is fine.

Note the poop boards, mandatory IMO. We use sand in both the coop and run and it has worked wonderfully. Easy to clean, every day, no smell.

This shows the other half of the coop, again, poop boards and a ramp. Note the security cameras. These are both Arlo and Wyze, one with batteries and the other with electricity. Good to make sure the girls are all in the coop when the automatic door closes AND it is great to see who is laying and who isn't.

The 4" white PVC tube is their feeder. At the bottom of the tube there is about a 3/4" gap up from a plastic tub underneath the tube. This has worked out fine and in one corner we have egg shell & oyster shell in a small container. They like the egg shell better.

Our coop is 8'x12' and pretty high at the peak. Inside we have 16 nesting boxes, roosts are mostly the 2x4 rafters, and some solid/thick branches to give it a little character.

I was wondering if anyone puts a ceiling in so that your chickens don't roost as high? mine love to roost high, for the bantees the higher the better they like it. I'm not sure if that's a good feature or not?
