Modern Marvels had a great egg episode (season 15/#2) showed "cage free" hens, battery hens, and backyard birds.

Cage free, Colored Egg Farmers chickens. It is lighter in there..a little bit the camera makes it darker because of the flash....Notice the hen squatting on the right bottom corner?

The dust doesn't help with pics much either, but they have room to run around, and their nest boxes. There are two other nest boxes on the other wall which you can't see in the pic.
