What is a fan for?

Hello,

Is just my homemade incubator only goes up to 98F.Would a fan make it hotter?Or would it make it cooler?

I think the fan is to more evenly distribute the heat.

The fan evenly distributes the heat so that you don't have hot and cold spots that cause a delayed hatch.
