My chicks are only 5-6 weeks old. But I would like to be prepared. I would like to know what a good balanced chicken diet consists of? How much of things need to be in it, what kind of supplements I need to feed them, ect.... If anyone could post a list or give some pointers, I would appreciate it! Also, can you feed chickens, snails?

4 leghorns(I think), 2 black Australorps(I think),
(1 rooster,3 hens) (2 hens)
1 crazed dog, 1 cat, 4 kittens, 3 snails, 2 hermit crabs, a phantom mouse, a potential beef cow, a possible horse, a few wild, deer, turkey, ducks, red tailed hawk, and a VERY happy wipperwill......wipperwill......wipperwill......

Thanks!!
No, I wasn't planning on letting them free range. They'll be in an old dog pen I'm turning into a run and coop.
Glad they like snails.....we have three HUGE ones in a tank now,...hum...

that's really weird considering my little sister AND my great aunt just got over ringworm! Can chickens get lymes? (yes, we have LOADS of ticks!) Thanks ALOT for the warning! But, I just fed my chickens a snail this morning.

I didn't stick around to see if they would it though.
