What is a good incubator for around $150? Newbie!

Brinsea Eco 20 is the best for your price range. They are on sale now and you can get 10% off with this code. FBEG0211 is the code, 10% off expires Mar 15th

With shipping, it should be right around $150.

Search for Brinsea on BYC and you'll find lots of information about how great they are!

At my local TSC they are doing Chick Days. They are selling the LG still air for $39.99 and the egg turner (41 eggs) for $39.99 as well. For $150 you could get 2 still air bators and a turner. You could load 41 eggs in one with a turner and then use the other one as a hatcher.

With my math, it looks like $120 for this and then about 8-9 bucks more for tax and you still have $20 left over to buy more eggs to hatch!

The LG Still air works for me as a bator and would be great as a hatcher!

$150 is plenty for the best small bator there is Brinsea ECO 20. When on sale you can get it for around $150 with autocraddle (turner) or $99.00 without turner.

Forget about LG, they have a bad rep and rightly so, lot's of potential problems and frustrations along the way. (Unstable temperature and humidity, need for "stabilising " it for days before use, etc. etc.)

But if you like to tinker with things and can't sleep at night LG might be right choice for you. LOL

I guess it depends on how many eggs you will try to hatch at one time. You can always drive up and down the interstate until you find a cooler that has blown off some construction companies truck. Then purchase a automatic turner from TSC for $45. A hot water heater thermostat for $8, a light socket and bulb out of a old lamp, (free), a plastic dish at Dollar tree for $1, a little wire and tape and for way less than your $150 have a pretty dang good incubator.
