What is a good rooster?

I dont like that he chases his flock around first thing in the morning though.

My over 3.5 year old rooster still does this. It's annoying to me. It appears to be annoying to the hens. But he isn't hurting anyone so I ignore him. My rooster is an excellent flock leader in all other aspects so I leave him to it.

Mine is about a year older than yours. Ive just read that hens should willingly submit to a good rooster. Its the exception rather the norm for him so wanted to check. Otherwise he seems good

Oh the hens very willingly submit to him. All of them. Some even run to him to get away from the junior rooster.
This herding and chasing some hens in the morning is just part of his routine.

Ah, okay. I wonder what it is about him for them to not willingly submit as frequently.
