what is a Keet? Is it a young guinea fowl?

Hi every one!!

So i have two 2 month old guineas and i dont know if they are roosters or hens..... how big do they get? i have 7 young birds and 5, 3 year old hens ... they all get along... but i am not so sure i know if they are roosters......what is a keet?


ohj and how do i tell if the guineas are roos or not? please help me

Keets are young guineas.

You'll have to vent sex, or watch to see how does the climbing up.... Now, they only lay in spring, but if your wanting fertile eggs, I'd say with this lot, the odds or a male or two is great, probobly half and half. There are links to vent sexing guineas. I'd google it. Somebody probobly has is listed on youtube.

Around 8wks old, my female guineas will start using their 2 syllable call. I also start to notice them getting a larger feather bump on their rear than the males. But the different call is definitely the easiest for me.

As far as vent sexing keets, is this reliable? I was under the impression that it wasn't accurate or didnt work with guineas. Id love to hear more about vent sexing keets and will have to look around the internet and read more about it.

ok i found out i had 2 guys so i sold them they r sooo noisy!!!! ah!!!!
