What is a Nankin chicken?

I have 18 pee-wee 4-H kids in our group and about half of them keep them because of the personalities. These are kids between 5 and 8. Several of our older kids keep them as well. The cockerels and cocks are nice to handle, havent had a mean or nasty one yet. I highly recommend them.

Here is a picture of one of my bantam babies...I need to get some pictures now that they are bigger!

Well, I bought the eggs from a man in California that only hatches out these endangered birds. He was hoping that I would breed them to keep them going and join the Nankin Club..so, I'm pretty sure these are Nankins..

I hatched six Nankin babies from eggs off of ebay. They are adorable, petite, golden birds. My hens have black feathers in their tails. They look just like the Nankin Club pics, so I believe they are pure-bred. Hard to find, but very sweet.
