What is a RP?

I feel like a new comer just now, because I'm seeing all these threads for RPs and don't have a clue what it's about. Could someone please explain what a RP is and what you do in it? Thanks in advance!

I think it stands for role play??? Not really sure, just a guess. Maybe some kind of game?

Welcome to BYC! It takes a while to learn all the abbreviations used here. The first time I saw OEG, I mistook it for Olive Egger, instead of Old English Game. ) But don't sweat it, you'll get used to the abbreviations, and obviously from your post you know how to ask even if you don't know.
