What is a Satin chicken?

a "satin" is a bird who was originally a silkie cross (usually bantam cochin/pekin) then bred back to the silkie standard minus the feather type. A lot of long time breeders are hoping to make it a recognized breed one day. a lot of people think first, second or third generation are satins but those that are really into them don't consider them satins until the 7-10th+ generation or when they are breeding true
