what is a sexlink?

what does sexlink mean? i gather something to do with breeding but thats about it

certain genetic trait only being passed to certain gender of offsprings, ex, barred rock hen x black roo, all barred progeny = rooster.

Sexlinked inheritance means for chickens:

Males have 2 sex chromosomes, females only have one.
The opposite situation as for mammals.

The females get their one sex chromosome always from their father.
No sexlinked traits are inherited from their mother.

The females always express those sexlinked traits because there is only one copy,
no suppressing copy on the chromosome from the other parent as in autosomal inheritance.

The dams only pass their sex chromosome to their sons.
