What is a "straight run"?

Thanks everybody. I'm considering more sources for Delawares and the farm I was looking into said they only ship straight runs. Murray McMurry sells sexed, but I don't know how strict they are on their Delaware standards or if they just breed what they have. I'd like to find a breeder dedicated to breed development in Delawares and I'd like to find one that sells sexed if I decide to start as a breeder myself.

out of 10 strait run chicks, i had 7 hens

which worked out perfectly.

saddly though, one of my hens died at a few weeks.

Well if you are going to breed them, towards the SOP you need a breeder, if you are just breeding them- well you will need boys and meny boys allows you to pick the best boy...
