Any post intended to draw a knee jerk reaction is considered a trolling post. Any post started so the OP can eat his or her popcorn and watch the train wreck is a trolling post. And post with the 2 cents added in to stir the pot is a trolling post.

I've long suspected that there's an Association of Trolls.

Trolling can also be just to fool people.. saying something just believable enough that baits people in. I saw one the other day on a news site about India and the people there... someone made a comment about Chief Sitting Bull and how the Indians are good people. Another time was about the earthquake in Haiti and someone saying "hasn't Africa suffered enough?" There's always a few people who fall for their tricks.

It can be difficult to distinguish them from the geographically and historically ignorant, though. Some may be both ignorant and trolls.

Yeah, I think that is their goal. Obvious trolling is boring. I like when they say something creatively wrong.. just to get bites. It can be funny.. but when they say things just to make people flat out angry... eh.. stupid.

I think he's 8 to 10 hours behind the west coast. So it should be 4 to 6 PM his time.
