What is an Easter Egger?

Please can someone explain to me what an EE is please? I'm new to chickens and don't quite understand

easter egger is a harchery 'Americana/aracona' (sp) they are a majority of the time not the true breed listed, and for that reason they have been dub EEs
Ees can lay eggs colors of any type from white to brown,to a sky blue or maybe a weird green.
