What is best position at "lockdown" for hatching quail eggs?

It seems full and i cant see anything clear anymore did i cook it. Some are different looking inside maybe past the red dot

how old are the eggs when you candle them? I don't candle mine till the end of day 14 before I put them in lockdown. If clear they are no good the rest I give a chance.

I put them in sept 1
Some are clear some look cloudy with yellow red and two seem full and i cant see anythink like black no light passes basically

Candle them again before you put them in lockdown if clear they wont hatch Id give the rest a chance cant hurt to try. I think you are better off not opening your incubator all the time.

Ive been opening my incubator in order to turn the eggs. I bought a 39.00 bator and thought it came with a turner. The last time i spent more and i to return it. This one stays steady but is very small. Im not even sure how i would cover the bottom because the space.but regardless i get the same temp on a daily bases even though i dont know what the heck im doing.

I agree. If they aren't totally clear leave them. If you started Sep 1, lockdown would be this Thursday the 15th. Might as well try since they've been in there this long.

Okay im going to try... Any suggetions for the bottom just in case they do hatch and with what and when will/how will i water them.

Okay, after they hatch leave them in the incubator till they are dry then you need to have a brooder box to put them in. Anything from a cardboard box,
plastic tote or you can build your own. It needs a light above it to keep them warm 95 degrees the first week, 5 degrees lower each week after that. You need to brood them for at least 4 weeks unless its real hot where you live. I use a standard white light 60 watt with no problems, lots of people prefer a red one your choice.

Feed: I use game bird 28% and I grind it up for the first week

Water: fresh water every day. You need a drinker that they cant get wet in or they can get cold and die.

Go to my profile and look at some of my pictures of the waterer for chicks that I like to use and my brooder box. Hope this helps and good luck

Bad news i accidentally partially dropped an egg the kids and i decided to open it. We were scared the whole way through hoping we wouldnt see anything we would looses. One of the kids said it smelled like warm milk; so we all openes it and guwey liquid and broken yuck came out. I would assume the egg was rotin, should i continue with the unknown others

So MessyLove - whatever happened with this hatch? Did you try a different supplier?
