What is BLEEDING

I just read that someone bleeds thier birds befor a show. What is BLEEDING and why do it?

I bet they were talking about having them blood-tested for disease before showing.

From havng read the previous thread, I am certain that testing is what was meant. IMO it would have been a better word choice

Yes, I would imagine they mean blood testing, I have also heard in called bleeding when the inspectors come and "bleed" the broiler breeders, in the houses that a friend of the family used to own. I dont know how they the do show birds, but these meat breeders, the slit a little gash in them and hold them like a baby and rock them back and forth until they get the vial full of blood. They just do a few birds from each house.
