I have 21 hens that appear to be fairly healthy but out of the bunch, one is laying eggs with problems.
For the past couple weeks one or maybe 2 of my light brown eggs has been noticeably paler than usual with a watery white. Some eggs, but I'm not sure how many or exactly which ones had a grainy/pebble like texture. That has phased out with all my eggs coming back good in the past week, except one.
In one picture you can see 2 bad eggs and 2 good ones for reference in the front. One in the back had the pebble texture and the color is really pale. The other is severely deformed, mottled in color and so thin that just gently trying to pick it up caused cracking.
Then the other picture shows 3 eggs taken 3 days in a row, all with various problems.
There is no obvious sign of illness in the flock. One white hen (but obviously nut the one laying these) has been sneezing or maybe coughing once in a great while, like a couple times a week. Nothing else like that. There is do pretty hefty feather loss going on but I don't know if that is pecking or molting, or maybe both. Most of the hens have a large bare patch on their backs right where their 2 wings meet. A few of them have feather loss on their necks. One has feather loss on her had right by her comb. I thought maybe the rooster might be causing it but I'm not sure. He has made combs bleed before.
Egg production has been steady and actually increasing since last fall.
Any help, please? Thanks.
