What is Doodle's rooster?

maybe his feathering, or lack there of.... is genetic in some way. are there even feathers growing in that area? it's odd that he lost the down, without feathers being right behind them. have you checked for mites or lice? are they getting enough protein?

what part of NC are you in?

we are about an hour east of Charlotte in Stanly County

mites or lice - NOPE - No problem with those..

they getting enough protein - they just were weaned off medicated feed and onto starter/grower so he should be

feathers - you can see where new feathers are coming in - it is just REALLY SLOOOOOOOOW!! everyone else is the some age and is fully feathered (even my 1 red cochin that I believe was doubled dosed with the frizzle gene) and I got 16x at one time..
