What is eveyones favorites?

standard: marans and white rock
bantam:cochins and d`uccles
fancy: silkies
ducks : muscovey,I love how they to talk to each other
quail: Cornix
turkeys: don`t have any right now,next year`s list
Pheasent: none right now,in a couple of year`s list

Of course I have to put a plug in for Araucanas. I am in love with these unusual little birds. I have raised many chicken breeds over the years, but thus far the Araucanas are my favorite.

They're fun to raise because they're so rare -- few people have seen a "real" Araucana. They're also a challenge to breed, and I enjoy challenges.

In addition, they are good dual-purpose birds. We keep cull females for eggs and butcher cull cockerels for meat. If let run wild, they are good survivors. If hand-raised, they are very sweet and good around people. They are excellent broodies and mothers. Sometimes the males help to raise the chicks as well.

I love my standard cochins. Bantam has to be showgirls, they look so cool. Fancy turken? Ducks I want some muscovys, still working on that one. Turkeys don't know. Quail, button quail are really cute. Pheasant don't know haven't thought about that.
