What is going on with my Blue Orpington's feathers?

This is my blue orpington rooster. I have noticed as he has got older his feathers across his back have taken on a yellowish,reddish tinge...Is this normal? And if I breed him with a black orpington hen what are the chances the chicks will have the same?

It's brassiness. It can be in the diet or the sun or just age. It's possible that it's genetic too when you say he's getting older how old do you mean?

For breeding and show yes but it won't affect his health

As long as the cause for the brassiness is hereditary. Like i said before diet and the sun can also affect the bird so the only way to know is to hatch some offspring from him.
