What is going on with my Dove

I have just adopted a pet Dove. It does back flips over and over in the cage, in my hand, and well all day. When I hold it it will fall out of my hand. Why and how do I get it to stop.I like the bird, George, but he is tripping and making a huge mess and could hurt itself. He actual did best in a box. When I got George he had a blanket over his cage I removed this as I did with my other bird. I get up after 10am and want them not to have to wait for me to get up to start their day, all of the other birds dont seem to mind. George spends most of his time staring up and this will cause him to fall off the perch. So whats going on? is he freaked now that someone is pay attention to him?

you need to ask the person you got the dove from. we can just guess my guess injury may or may stop. covering the bird may be scareing it . did it do this behavior before buying .doves are wild they are not like many birds people raise today.
