What exactly are you using to heat it with?

I am afraid that space is too small to only be able to heat one portion/side of it which will allow room for the chick to get away from the heat.

I am using a clear heat lamp

Can’t see a picture. If you didn’t buy a lot of feed switch to medicated. This is so even if the chick is perfect temperature it might get it self a respiratory infection. But if you bought a ton of feed already don’t worry about it. When/if you plan to take him/her outside, slowly introduce them to the outside. How many weeks is the chick? If you put you hand on in the brooder it should be slightly hot if it is between 1-2 weeks. I might be off though.
