I have a 5 year old india blue male and I am trying to figure out what gene he carries. He has 2 or 3 white wing feathers on each wing. In his second year he and two IB pied hens produced an India blue pied male. This is the only off spring which I am sure is theirs. Does this mean he has to be dark pied or could he still be split to white? Are there any other differences between dark pied and split to white because I have a bird that will be a year old sonn which has some white converts, is there a way of telling what she is just by looking at her?

Here he is and one of his mates is the hen might be the mother of the pied male

I am also wondering because I have two white chicks and I am trying to determine their parentage, they might be his or they might be from a garden center that lets me collect eggs because their hens never sit since their is not cover and the pen is a bit over crowded.

When they show white flight he is split to white for sure he could be also split pied the only way to see if he is split pied you will need to breed him to a white hen if he produces some pieds then he is split pied if he don't he is split white only. If you had him with the pied hen he will produce white and pieds along with some that show white flight so he could be the daddy to the whites chicks.
