I'm new to chickens, but I already have a funny story to share. I went in the store to purchase my baby chicks. There were two bins, one with buff orpingtons and one with black astrolorps. My boyfriends looked into the buff bin and there was one little grey weird looking chick. He said, "Hey, I kind of like that one". So, when the store owner came out I ask what kind it was. He said he had no idea and he really didn't think it was a chicken at all. He said he would throw it in for free if we wanted it.

So I went home and started googling baby chick pictures and we finally found out what our little "Madeline" is.

She is a Silver Polish Chicken.....

.....still need to build them a coop.
