What is killing my chickens?

I never did figure out what it was that was getting the birds but since I have been locking all of them up securely I have not had the problem knock on wood. However I discovered that RATS are what was emptying my traps of bait without tripping it or if they did trip it they were able to get out the front. That is a great idea you have there with that shell. Thanks for sharing.

Coons only snatch the head and crop, the neck. It could be a dog, but they do not take action at night. Cats tend to eat the meaty parts, not rip up.... I'm stumped. I vote dog/possum, though

Im completely stumped as well... it cant be a dog because whatever the.culprit was is killing rhe bird then.dragging it up a 10 foot fence and eating it ontop of a covered pen... I have no idea I did get a video but couldnt make out the critter. And then it never returned.

I use game cam also, so far ive only seen neighbors dog and a few stray cats. One cat is there every night planning how to get them. May try that trap to get him gone.my guess would be raccoon, wouldn't go far to eat but would want little privacy and above would give it that. Im sorry about your chickens, but definitely locking them up at night will be good. I hope you don't have anymore attacks.

Mtadkins5, I just picked up a Browning BTC1 trail camera for $99 which is about as cheap as they come. I bought it based on the reviews at trailcampro.com.

Got ours from academy for 69.99 plus memory card, WildGame Innovation. Its been working great for watching the coop and run, day or night with infered vision. Probably not the best one out there but serves its purpose, for a low price. I have no complaints.
