What is killing my chicks??

does the coop/run have a roof? some animals can and will climb a fence to get in.
my run/coop has a roof because we got hawks where i live and they always around but cant get in.

I have a net as a roof. Here we also have a lot of hawks and other birds of prey

Do you have a game camera you can put up? That is how I found out what was killing my birds.

I ordered a wildcam, it should arrive next week.

What predators are common where you live. Once most predators have great chicken dinner the will come back I’m sorry for loss

Around here we have foxes, badgers, lots of birds of prey, marten, weasel. And now Wolfs are arriving slowly from Germany. But they are not in our area yet.

Rats will easily kill chicks, and I have no doubt that they will kill adults also. If you know there is a rat, you most likely have an infestation. Weasels can come through any hole a quarter could be pushed through. THey are serial killers.

Oh no! I don't know what did that, but I do think the cam is a good idea. we have one up in our coop to see what killed our chickens if something ever happened.

Don’t know what a Karen is but sounds like it would be weasel or rats depending on how bad the infestation but I’m thinking weasel. You won’t know till game cam for now I’d check for spots throughly. HC for tunnel situation and maybe bury HC skirt could help

Didn’t know you could edit after sending. Auto correct off ok. I’ll get my daughter on that. She showed me everything else about this complicated thing. She’s 16 and will figure in 10 sec. lol. What is a marten though
