What is miss gabby up to

After I cleaned the coop out today I sat in the pen with all the feathered ones
Because it wasn't 1 billion degrees out finally

I see gabby walk by me with a feather in her mouth and she put it over next to the pool

I looked to see if she was making a nest but nothing else there

She hasn't started laying yet. Shes about 5 months now.

What do you think she is up to?

Could be it was just stuck there. lol I see mine with feathers stuck to the side of their bills or feather buggers in their nares. which I have to pick out bugs me lol

Feather buggers! So that's what they're called! My Abby has them ALL the time!

I think she should be laying by now, but they won't make a "nest" until they have been laying for a while.

See that's what I first thought because they them stuck on their bills all the time but this was a full size feather holding it in her mouth and I watched her put it down lol

My Goose likes to pick up feathers sticks rocks and place them at her feet. I guess it's just the nesting instinct they all have.
