Roxanne is in the coop getting ready to lay an egg in the corner. Mr. Fancypants is standing over her (not mounting) chortling - sounds like a deep, rumbly coo - almost constant. Anybody know what this is all about?

I have 2 roos that do this when one of the ladies are going to lay. He stands gaurd so to speak.

He's telling her that the nest site is a good spot and he 'approves'. My boys do this with food and finding excellent spots for a hen to lay her brood. He'll go over and start cooing, as if to say, "Come here, I think you'll like this."
