No. But it makes more sense than a poor quality barred rock. They can’t get leakage from nowhere.

I suspected that too, because of that exact reason. However I'm pretty sure that people checked the website back when everyone and their brother had these. They didn't list anything it could be. Maybe it does now. I'm not sure. I always thought they came from some accident.

I mean, that’s possible. It would have to be something recent. Though, if another breed did accidentally mix with the barred rocks, the resulting offspring would still be barred rock hybrids.

**Accidental BR hybrids is what I believe them to be.

It may be a Barred Plymoth Rock or a Dominique If they have a large red comb on head it is most likely a Barred Plymoth Rock.. Flat red comb is a Dominique. This looks more like the Rock.
