My first batch of Chickens came from Meyer Hatchery with a hatch date of June 19th (almost 16 weeks old now). I agreed for them to send me a breed of equal or greater value if there were any hatch problems with a particular breed. The invoice they sent me had all my breeds supposedly accounted for, but now that they've grown I see I did not receive a Golden Laced Wyandotte, but instead got this little one. She appeared to have some sort of neurological issues from the moment we opened the box (stared in corners, tripped a lot, generally uncoordinated, etc. - hence the name "Derpy"). She was the only one that came just barely beginning to feather, but ended up developing much slower than everyone else.
She still has neurological issues (legs are uncoordinated, looks drunk when she tries to fly or speed along the ground and is smaller and less developed than her peers). At first I thought she was my buckeye, but she has the wrong comb, and the buckeye is accounted for. She started to look like my New Hampshire Red and I thought maybe they just sent me 2, but she has these lighter striped feathers in her wings. Just wondering if anyone has any guesses. We love her and she's a freaking trouper, so it doesn't matter in the end, but I am curious none-the-less.
