What is my duckling doing ????

You all might think it's cute now, but I think you will think differently when it's a sexually mature 12-14 pounder. Not saying all drakes and ducks will be aggressive, but there have been enough people, myself included, that can tell you horror stories that stem from raising them alone and petting and cooing on them.

So you haven't raised enough to be able to say if petting and cooing on them is a good thing?

I am not saying that the ducks wont become aggressive i am simply sharing my experience i have never been bitten or attacked by any of my ducks. That is whats this site is for people to share their experience.

I mean this in the nicest possible way...

It's good to share, and you said that you had raised 100 drakes this way and they were fine, then that would be something worth noting, but I can tell you from personal experience, and from many posts, that petting and cooing on them, especially when raised alone, often has consequences which leave people with few options.

How does spending time with it make it aggressive?
