What is my surrogate mom? I want another!

Your thread made me think of something. Quick question, of all of my girls, my bantam is the only one who has ever gone broody, and she is now on her third round of brooding since Easter. Is this normal behavior for bantys, do they tend to be more broody than others? Your liittle mommy is so beautiful!

It actually has more to do with breed than wether or not you have a 'bantam' sized bird. For example, there is such a thing as a bantam Leghorn. And I personally don't hate myself enough to try to get one of those to go broody :p.

But, that said, the most popular bantams do tend to be broodies (probably popular for that reason).
