What is on my Ducks foot?

I am a new duck owner and yesterday I noticed some dark stuff accumulating on my ducks feet. I’m wondering if I should worry about this or is this something all ducks go through when aging? I attached a picture for reference. Thank you all!

What are they kept on? Looks like possibly ammonia burns? Wish I could see it better is this only on one foot an only one duckling?

I keep them on Aspen shavings for now. It’s on both feet of my Pekin duck, but just a little bit on my khaki Campbell’s foot.

Their poop contains ammonia and can cause burns I don’t know how often your changing the bedding and not even sure that is what it is but something is irritating the ducklings fret @Isaac 0 any ideas?

Ok, that was just cleaned before the photo, How often do you clean their brooder? It looks like a pretty small pen to me.

that brooder is way too small for those ducks! You need to get them into a kiddie pool or something bigger so they can run around and not be cramped up like that.
