What is on this egg??

I know its probably nothing to worry about, I'm just curious. My Red Star has laid a few eggs with this stuff on them. It's almost like an egg powder of some sort. I was just curious. Thanks!

yes I was thinking calcium deposits. I have some that do that and sometimes the deposits are different colors. I don't worry too much about it because who eats the egg shells anyway right?

Yep, extra calcium and you can scratch it off with your nail!!

Does that mean she's getting too much calcium? Is there something I can or need to do to prevent this? We've only had our chickies a couple of months, and she's my only one old enough to lay. Except for the one we just got, but have only had for 3 days.
