what is "pipping" is it their noise or breaking of shell???

    New here obviously...

    Some people say there is no sound with the eggs some say pipping???

    I am hatching (I hope) quail.

    A "pip" is the first little hole they poke in their shell. I have no clue about quail but with my chickens I generally hear chirping after they break into the air cell. Some people do not, however. Good luck with your babies and [​IMG]
