What is reasonable time to let the rooster outside?

Please do not give in to your bitchy crab neighbor next door who apparently likes nothing better than to complain all the time,I hate people like that.You are 100% in the right and have the law on your side,let's see that's 1 rooster per 10 hens and you have 70 maybe he needs some male company.Sounds like your other neighbors are cool so don't worry about the crank next door,your in the country enjoy!!!

I think 9:00am-10:00am is very reasonable.

personally, my crew are all let out when I get out to let them out (630 to 7 am) the rooster crows all day long at various times--doesn't everyone's roosters do that??

Not mine he crows 2 to 3 times a day and sometimes not at all and my other one doesn't crow at all,I've had pretty good luck with my roo's and I've always had between 2-6 at all times.

I had a golden sebright that crowed all day long, probably 10-30 times per hour. I had to send him to freezer camp because he was so noisy. I currently have a Welsummer, and he crows the most in the morning and evening, but I am sure I hear him at least one an hour.

Maybe it depends on the breed it seems like the smaller ones are noisier don't know why currently I have an 8 month old br and 7 month buff orp who doesn't crow at all and also have a couple 8 wk olds 1 blue orp and 1 lav orp that haven't started yet,just got rid of a yr old light brahma that crowed probably less than 10 times a day.I've also noticed that having more than one doesn't meen they crow more.

how many hens do you have to that ratio of roos'? I have some 11 week old babies that I think out of the 8--6 are roos. not positive yet but leaning heavily. I have one sussex roo right now to 8 hens and would like to have a back up roo or 2.....(he is the father to the babies)
