New to raising chickens, just wanted to know what "sex linked" are. I thoiught it was a breed, but read something about its a way of sexing chicks.

Yes, sex links chicks are distinguishable as they hatch by their color. One gender will have a white dot, the other wont. They have been bred this way by crossing certain breeds. I have black sex link pullets.

So do I, when I bought my chicks, I tried to get a variety. I also have Red Cross, White Plymouth Rocks, and gold Laced Wyanottes.

When I first ordered, I just wanted great layers. I got the Production Red, the Sex links, Australorps and Barred Rocks. But now that I see all the neat and unique ones my list of future chickens has been bumped to:

White Polish
Silver Laced Wyandottes
Silkies (of any color)
Mille Fleur D' uccle
Welsummers (for their dark eggs)
