What is she doing ?

September 1st i got a year old olive egger . She has not laid while i have had her but this morning as i was adding new milkcrate nests she was very curious . I finished what i was doing and and carried on with my day . An hour later i went to the coop and she is in behind the crate nesting . She wont let the others in the coop and is filling her spot with ramdon feathers that are within reach . Is this just normal behaviour before laying or is she making herself comfy for an extended stay ?
