What is she/he?

Hello!

I have recently acquired

this new bird, named Digit. I think Digit a hen, but I am not sure. She is 8-9 weeks old, has greenish legs, 5 toes, puffy cheeks, and sort of a pea comb. I was told Digit is a Faveroles/EE mix. Does anyone have suggestions as to what breed mix Digit may be? Thought on whether Digit is a Dude??

Edit - likely the mix you were told. EE are mixes that could lay colored eggs. Unless the crow like yours will

Not sure about breed but Digit does indeed look like a dude. The comb is very developed and red for the age.

Since she has five toes she has to be crossed with a five-toed breed, likely a Faverole.

Thanks! I have a New Hampshire Red hen (with full spurs too) who crows. I would not have believed she is a hen had I not witnessed her actually laying eggs. So I guess time will tell!

I totally love his feather coloring, though. He’s a very pretty bird!

His coloring and comb give him away. This one is certainly male.

Thank you all for such quick replies!. So it looks like the consensus is that Digit is a dude. Next bit of advice I am asking.. how will he do with one hen? The black one in one of the photos. I believe she is a Plymouth Rock/EE mix ..

She will get over mated and look a mess in no time.
