What is she?

Okay, I'd assume it's hers. Chickens don't usually lay more than once a day. I did have a rooster that didn't crow until 7 months old but he was the bottom of the pecking order.

This isn't her this is a younger one I have but this is what she look like when she was little now I've noticed with the salmon favorella mixes they kind of go on point like with the SF's If the wings are the brown light brown they tend to be female If they are gray black ish then they tend to be the roosters and when she was young this is pretty much what she look like

Watching this thread with interest!

She looks younger than 5 months to me. Her adult feathers haven't all come through yet and she looks quite straggly which you'd expect from an immature adolescent chicken. Her comb isn't red enough to be laying. If her breed are slow to mature that might explain why.

I see male hackles but that might be because they are still growing in. The saddles look round ended to me, not male and pointy.

The wing pattern colouring, well who knows. The final body colour isn't there yet, so it may change still.

I believe she _could_ be a pullet. Time will tell. The other chicken could have laid the egg. How does it compare in colour to the other eggs she lays?

This is another reason too I think she's a girl this is a picture of her dad at about 5 months 6 months maybe and he has like the really long tail feathers and his comb is a lot bigger than hers is at that about the same age she might be a little younger than 6 months I'm trying to find her exact birthday in my phone

I'm seeing a cockerel now, yes. Still prepared for another crazy update in another week though.

Those saddles are rounded. The hackles though.... very much male.

I agree the hackles look iffy and the wing pattern a bit suss, but those saddles are roundy roundy

Unless I'm confused, and we aren't talking about the bird in the first post, she's looked like a cockerel since the beginning. Granted I haven't read through this thread, so may just be lost.

There are pointy ones starting to emerge it looks like though.
